Is It Better To Market On A FaceBook Business Page or Personal Profile For Business?

Have you noticed that Facebook has gotten hyped with the algorithm change games every few months.  Those buzzards!  Always changing up stuff, right???  Well in this post, in case you have been wondering which FB profile should you start promoting your business on, I will gladly let you know.

My golden answer is.... you need to promote on both of them.  Yes I said BOTH....both of them have there down sides and upsides.

Personal FB profile

First of all, it is against Face books policies and procedures to be using your personal profile to build a business from solely advertising on your personal profile.  Once FB finds out that you are only using your personal profile to promote and/or sell products from your business than your account holds the risk of being closed down.  I have seen it happen before so be careful that you are not going against this rule.  So make sure you are sharing other content besides your business opportunity. If you are just starting a FB profile or have little friends than  your posts may get more organic reach than normal.  Also note that you only see about 7% to 10% of your friends post and vice versa.  FB is only limited to 5,000 friends and they just implemented the follower feature.  Because FB has sooooo many accounts some of your content (posts) will only be shared with a few of your friends.  If a particular post that you shared gets a lot of engagement, than you will find that more of your friends will view that post.  Everyone is competing to get into the news feed now a days.  When FB first launched this problem didn't exits.  But if you are putting out good content and others are engaging on your post, you should not have a problem with your competition.   A down side to promoting on your personal page is that you can not view any stats.  You can not see how many people viewed your post, unless it is a video post or how many people clicked your call to action requests.  In your business you will always need to look at your stats to see what is working and what is not working.

Business FB profile

Having a business profile on FB will definitely be needed if you are in business.  The great thing about having a business page is you can view and study your stats and you can buy FB ads to get a higher targeted reach.  On your business page, if you are not buying ads you will not get a lot of engagement and it may seem like for a while that your business page looks more like a ghost town.  Some disadvantages of having a successful business page, is that it takes work, dedicated work.  First, if you are not familiar with running Facebook ads, I do not recommend teaching yourself.  You can end up spending and wasting sooooo much money and not get back any of your money invested.  I recommend you buy a course to learn how to run fb ads correctly.  I am running a few FB ads to get targeted traffic to my page.  I will be coming out with a beginners digital training course on FB ads soon that won't break your pockets so be on the look out.  The biggest down side of having a business page on FB is you have to "pay to play".  You also have to remain patient and dedicated to building your page and know in the long run that it will pay off.  The bigger the audience you build with targeted hungry buyers that want your "stuff" the bigger your profits will be in your business, so think about it that way while building.

Facebook marketing has led thousands of online entrepreneurs to success and is a gold mine.  Don't break the rules and learn how to market on FB effectively and you will be booking more high tier clients, finding more targeted leads, making more sales, which lead to higher profits in your business in no time.
