Happy Holidays....Hello 2018!!!!

Today is the very last day of 2017 and I am super excited for what is to come in 2018.  I am in one of the highest states of gratitude and here is why.  I am so thankful for God allowing me to experience an awesome life.  I can truly say that I do not want for much, I have my health, my family is in great health as well and over the last few years God has blessed me more than I could have imagined with a great family, supportive friends and an AMAZING HUBBY!  What more can a girl ask for???  This year hasn't been perfect, there were trials and tests that had to be passed, but with the good Lord on our side we fought the good fight of faith and work.  I am reminded of a few things that I will be ever grateful for, mind you I have a very, very long list but I decided to share just 3 things with you all today. :)

Our Home

I am grateful for our home.  We brought our house at the end of 2016 but it became our home in 2017.  I realized that not everyone is blessed with the "American" dream of owning a home and I am humbled and thank God every day.  Things were not a walk in the park for us, when my Husband and I first got married we knew that we would have to work hard to build some of the things that we wanted.  We stayed focused and disciplined on our goals and after about a year and a half of being married we were finally able to sign those papers of owning our home.

Our Beautiful, Precious Angel

I am soooo thankful for my niece, Aria.  Aria has brought so much joy to my family's life.  She is a "miracle" baby and every time I look at her I believe that God can do the impossible, if we just believe.  Aria is such a smart, beautiful, playful, ball of cuteness with a very bright future ahead of her.  Even though my husband and I are not able to see her as much because of distance (she lives in Charlotte, NC with my Brother and Sister in law and we live in San Antonio, TX ) I am still able to keep up with her and other family members by way of technology, so we are so happy about that.

My Husband Anthony

Last but certainly not least, I am very grateful for my husband.  Looking back over my life, well 10 years back, I never would have thought that I would meet some one who was so thoughtful, supportive, caring, loving and all the above, let alone date and marry that person. ha! Our marriage is a true testimony that despite of what you have been through or are going through at the moment you have to move forward and be strong.  A lot of times we can make excuses for where we are in life because of the cards that was dealt to us, meaning unforeseeable circumstances that happen along this journey we call life.  I can tell you that your life can turn out for the best if only you believe that it can be.  Yeah, sometimes life is not fair and things happen but we have to make sure that we are remaining positive and keeping our mind and body in good health.  My husband and I have been in terrible relationships in the past but we both had hope that we would meet someone that wasn't perfect, but perfect just for us.  No way am I making claims that our marriage and life are perfect but we choose to dwell on the good and positive and deal with the not so good times in a healthy way.

I truly hope you and your family have a Happy New Year and make 2018 your best year yet!!!

SETTING GOALS IN YOUR BUSINESS [3 TIPS]

Setting goals in your business is always going to be a continuous process.  You will have daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly goals that you will be working toward reaching in your business constantly.  In this blog/vlog I go over three tips to help you with setting your goals.  These can be applied to any business or personal goal.

Tip #1: Your Goal Must Be Realistic

Make sure your goal is realistic.  You have to be truthful with yourself and not set goals that are clearly out of your reach.  You will be setting yourself up for failure and you will be extremly disappointed with yourself when you do not reach your goal, so make sure that it is realistic.  For example, if you have a goal of losing 100 pounds, you would not say that you want to lose that 100 pounds within the next two weeks.  You will be setting your self up for failure,  it is next to impossible to lose 100 pounds in two weeks.  So reach for goals that are attainable for you and where you are at in this season.  Be truthful with yourself.

Tip #2: Create a plan and a schedule

To accomplish any goal you must need a plan and also a schedule to keep you on track.  I remember when my husband and I decided to get married and we set a date for the wedding to be 6 months after our engagement date.  I was sooooo happy and excited, but quickly realized that I had to hurry up and plan a wedding.  My wedding planner that I originally had helping me backed out on me the first month and most wedding planners that I wanted to work with would not work with me because they wanted 9 to 12 months to plan.  So I had to do the wedding myself.(planning, finding a venue, invitations, décor and all)    I never had any experience with event planning let alone planning a wedding, but I was up for the challenge.  I had no where to start, but a friend of mine suggested that I purchase a wedding planner book and that was pretty much all I needed to complete the wedding of my dreams.  Even though it was a little difficult planning because at the time I lived in SC, planning a wedding that was located in FL gave me a few headaches, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed putting it together and discovered a secret gift of creation that I had locked inside of me.  I made sure I stuck to the plan that the wedding planner book instructed and the wedding ended up being a success.  So make sure with any goal that you are pursing, have a plan and more importantly MAKE SURE YOU STICK TO THE PLAN.  A few pics of my wedding are below...

Tip #3: Implement An Accountability System

Implementing an accountablity system is so important.  Honestly, we as humans can be very lazy.  We can procastinate and trick ourselves to believing that we will complete a task or goal in a few days, than the days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months and then before you know it a year has gone by and you have not even started on your goal that you set out for.  Having an accountability system, group or partner would be the best thing for us lazy folks, and I am preaching to the choir because I can be very lazy at times, especially if a goal is something that I do not enjoy doing.  That is one of the reasons why I created the BPbyP group on Facebook.  In this group we help each other stay accountable to one another and we also have free business trainings and resources to help others in their business.  This group has been a life saver for me because I have developed so many wonderful relationships with genuine people, while learning and having success in my business.  If you are interested in joining our group, click here for a private invite.

3 COMMON MISTAKES THAT NEW BUSINESS OWNERS MAKE

Starting a business can be very exciting, until you realize all the work that has to be done for your business to gain consistent profit. But building your business can be so rewarding. However building a business requires hard work, preparation and tons of planning, and did I mention hard work. :)  A lot of new business owners fall into the jump of excitement and not aware of all the challenges starting a business.  And that leads me to common mistake #1.

Mistake #1: The concept that being in business is unicorns and rainbows

Being in business is not always a walk in the park, especially in the novice stages.  It takes vision, dedication, hard work etc.  Most people that start off on an entrepreneurial journey are on cloud nine.  They feel like they will start making $10,000 within the next week.  But 9.99 times out of 10 that is not the case.  I am not trying to discourage anyone, I just want to be realistic.  So once you start your journey and if you are still working hard towards your passion, make sure that you are aware that there will be challenges and obstacles that you have to get through, but with a positive mindset you can get through them.

Mistake #2: Skipping out on your personal development

Working on your mindset is one of the most important things you need to do in your business.  Everyday, not just when you feel like it, personal development should be a part of your daily schedule.  Personal development helps you to enhance your ability to handle stress and assists you in achieving your goals.  Personal development in your business can make or break you.  Indulge in it daily and you will achieve more success.

Mistake #3: Treating your business like a hobby

Your business is probably something that you are very passionate about, which will make it a lot of fun, and a great hobby. Taking it to the next level, though, and turning it into a "profitable "business means you can’t treat it that way anymore. You can still enjoy it, just like you always have, of course, but some things have to change.

It may take some time to get used to this change, and you may miss some of the hobby aspects, but on the other side, you will be one of those focused people who gets to have a job they love.

If you are just starting your business or if you have been in business for awhile, I hope these tips have helped you and for more business tips, do not miss out on any of our posts.
